From Zagreb's main bus station (Autobusni kolodvor), purchase a ticket to Lepoglava. Take bus number 111 or any bus that heads towards Lepoglava. The journey takes approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive at Lepoglava bus station, exit the bus and head towards the main road. You can either take a taxi or walk. If you choose to walk, follow the road signs towards Trakošćan Castle which is about 5 kilometers away, a scenic route that may take approximately 1 hour.

From Zagreb's main railway station (Glavni kolodvor), take a train to Varaždin. Check the train schedule for departure times. After reaching Varaždin, exit the station and walk to the nearby bus station (Autobusni kolodvor) to catch a bus to Lepoglava. Again, take bus number 111 or any bus heading towards Lepoglava. After arriving at Lepoglava, you can either take a taxi or walk to Trakošćan Castle, which is about 5 kilometers away.
