Getting there

Public Transport - Tram and Bus

Start at the main tram hub in Zagreb, Trg bana Josipa Jelačića. Take tram line 6 towards 'Sveti Duh'. Ride for approximately 15 minutes and get off at the 'Mlinovi' stop. From there, walk to the bus stop located just a few meters from the tram stop. Board bus number 128 towards 'Medvedgrad'. The bus ride will take about 15 minutes. Get off at the 'Medvedgrad' stop, which is a short walk from the entrance of the fortress.

Walking

If you prefer a more active route, start at the city center (Trg bana Josipa Jelačića) and walk towards the north through Ilica Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with 'Himper ulica'. Turn left on 'Himper ulica' and follow it uphill. The walk is approximately 5 kilometers and will take about 1 hour. Enjoy the scenic views along the way as you approach the fortress.

Biking

For those who prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the local rental services in Zagreb. Start at Trg bana Josipa Jelačića and head towards Ilica Street. Follow Ilica Street until you reach the intersection with 'Himper ulica'. Turn left and cycle up the hill towards Medvedgrad. The distance is approximately 5 kilometers, and it should take about 20-30 minutes depending on your cycling speed.
