Pliješ, a 977-meter peak in Croatia's Žumberak Mountains, offers hikers a rewarding experience with its beautiful meadows and rich flora. While not immediately striking from a distance, it's one of the highest peaks in the area, easily accessible from the Vodice mountain hut.

Driving
From Zagreb, take the D1 road towards Samobor, then follow signs to Sošice. Once in Sošice, look for local signs directing you to Pliješ. Parking is available at designated trailheads near the foot of Pliješ. Note that the drive from Jastrebarsko to the trailhead is approximately 30 minutes. There are no tolls on this route. Parking is free at the trailhead.
Walking
From the center of Sošice, walk 200 meters east, then turn left onto the road towards Sveta Gera. After a few hundred meters, a marked path to the Vodice mountain hut branches off to the right into the forest. From the hut, two marked paths lead to the summit, allowing for a circular route. The shorter ascent to Pliješ (20 minutes) starts to the right (east) of the Vodice mountain hut. The other access (from the west side) starts at a bend in the road below the hut (30 minutes). The walk from Sošice to the Vodice mountain hut takes approximately 40 minutes.
