Turn left onto Frater Radulphusweg. Continue walking until you reach Landhuis Habaai at number 4. There are sidewalks for most of the route.

    From the bus terminal in Punda or Otrobanda, take bus number 2 towards Groot Kwartier. Get off at the stop near Schottegatweg Oost. From there, walk approximately 1 kilometer southeast on Schottegatweg Oost, then turn left onto Frater Radulphusweg. Continue walking until you reach Landhuis Habaai. The bus fare is approximately 2 ANG.

Landhuis Habaai, originally known as Plantation Welgelegen, is a historic landmark in Willemstad, Curaçao, dating back to around 1752. It stands as one of the island's oldest and most stunning plantation houses, reflecting a blend of Dutch colonial and Caribbean architectural styles. Throughout its history, Landhuis Habaai has served various purposes. Initially, it was a diversified plantation with farming and cattle. It also functioned as a country residence for governors. In the late 19th century, the Roman Catholic Church acquired the property, transforming it into a boarding house for upper-class girls and later an orphanage. Notably, in the early 20th century, Landhuis Habaai was renowned for its straw hat production, offering weaving courses and producing Panama hats on a large scale.After a period of abandonment, Lusette and Herman Verboom purchased Landhuis Habaai in 2005 and undertook a significant restoration project. Today, it houses Gallery Alma Blou, the oldest and largest gallery in Curaçao, showcasing local and Caribbean art. The gallery features paintings, sculptures, ceramics, jewelry, and dolls, all with a Caribbean flair. The terrace is used for cultural events like concerts and readings.The architecture of Landhuis Habaai reflects a blend of Dutch and Caribbean influences, featuring a two-story structure with galleries and baroque side facades. The interior spaces are designed to enhance the artwork's beauty, with daylight filtering through the galleries. The landhuis has a front and back gallery, and a complete second floor crowned by an attic.
