Othello Tower: A Historic Fortress in Famagusta

Getting There

• Walking

  If you are starting from the Famagusta city center, head southeast on Rızaiye Street towards the main square. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Atatürk Avenue. Turn left onto Atatürk Avenue. Continue walking until you see the entrance to the old city walls on your right. Enter through the gates and follow the path along the walls. As you walk, you will see signs pointing towards Othello Tower. Keep heading towards the southern part of the walls, and in about 15 minutes, you will arrive at Yeşil Deniz Cd. Othello Tower will be located on your left at Yeşil Deniz Cd 35.

• Public Transport (Bus)

  From the main bus station in Famagusta, look for a local bus heading towards Gazimağusa (Famagusta). Board the bus and ask the driver to drop you off at the stop closest to Othello Tower. Once you disembark, head south down Yeşil Deniz Cd. The tower is located at Yeşil Deniz Cd 35. It should only take about 5-10 minutes to walk there from the bus stop.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer to rent a bicycle, you can find rental shops around the city center. Start from the city center, cycling southeast on Rızaiye Street. Turn left onto Atatürk Avenue and continue until you reach the old city walls. Cycle along the path that follows the walls. Keep an eye out for signs directing you to Othello Tower. It should take roughly 10-15 minutes to reach the tower by bicycle, located at Yeşil Deniz Cd 35.
