Nestled in the serene village of Potamiou, approximately 39 kilometers northwest of Limassol, the Potamiou Medieval Mansion stands as a remarkable testament to Cyprus's multifaceted history. Its name, derived from the Greek word "potamos" (river), alludes to its location on the west bank of the Chapotami river. During the Frankish occupation, Potamiou served as a royal estate. Later, during the Turkish occupation, it was home to distinguished scholars and priests. Tradition suggests the village may have even served as the headquarters of a bishopric during the Venetian period. Beyond the mansion, Potamiou offers other attractions. The remains of the chapel of Agios Mnasonas, dating back to 300 A.D., are located on the southwestern side of the village.
