The Cyprus Car Museum, situated on the Near East University campus in Lefkoşa (Nicosia), is a testament to the evolution of automotive design and engineering. Opened in 2007 by Dr. Suat Günsel, this museum displays over 100 cars from around the world, ranging from vintage models to contemporary supercars. The museum's collection includes historically significant vehicles such as the 1899 Crestmobile Model C, one of the last surviving models of its kind, and a 1903 Wolseley. Visitors can also view cars once owned by prominent Cypriot figures, including an Austin Princess used by Dr. Fazıl Küçük, the first vice president of the Republic of Cyprus. The museum also features supercars like Ferraris and Lamborghinis. The museum not only exhibits vehicles but also operates a Car Restoration Workshop, where experienced staff maintain and restore the cars. The museum also houses a collection of over 5,000 toy cars. The Near East University has also built two solar-powered cars, RA25 and RA27, with RA25 having competed in the Sasol Solar Challenge race in South Africa. With vehicles spanning over a century, the Cyprus Car Museum offers an engaging experience for car enthusiasts and those interested in the history of the automobile.
