The winery was founded in 2006 by Akis Zambartas, a pioneer in Cypriot oenology. After a long career in the wine industry, Akis realized his dream and established his own boutique winery. His son, Marcos Zambartas, joined the family business, bringing international experience and a passion for winemaking. Together, they have built a winery that blends tradition and innovation. Cyprus has a long and fascinating history of winemaking, dating back almost 6,000 years. Archaeological evidence suggests that Cyprus may be one of the oldest wine-producing countries in the world. Wine production in Cyprus nearly ended during Ottoman rule but re-emerged after Cyprus passed under British control. The winery is located in the Krasochoria Lemesou (Wine villages of Limassol). Zambartas Wineries manages its vineyards organically. They focus on indigenous grape varieties such as Xynisteri, Maratheftiko, and Yiannoudi, as well as international varieties that thrive in the region. Zambartas wines have received international recognition, with awards from the Decanter World Wine Awards and the Thessaloniki International Wine Competition.
