Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are near Governor's Beach, walk east along the coastal path, keeping the beach to your left. After approximately 30 minutes, you will find the trail entrance near the B8 road.

  • Public Transport

    To reach the Pouziaris Natural Trail via public transport, take a local bus along the B8 route towards Limassol. Ensure the bus stops at Governor's Beach or a nearby stop. From there, walk east along the B8 for about 3 kilometers to find the trail entrance on your right. Bus fares typically range from €1.50 to €7, depending on the distance. A single bus ticket in Cyprus is around €1.70.

  • Car

    When driving from Governor's Beach, head east on the coastal road (B8) towards Limassol. Continue for about 3 kilometers and look for a small parking area on the right side of the road near the trail entrance, marked as 'Μονοπάτι της Φύσης Πουζιάρης'. Parking is free.

The Pouziaris Natural Trail, also known as Psilondentro (Tall Tree) – Pouziaris (Circular), is located within the Troodos National Forest Park. This popular trail offers a remarkable hiking experience through the diverse landscapes of Cyprus's mountainous heartland.The 8km circular route begins near the junction of the Platres – Mesa Potamos forest road with the Moniatis – Platres – Troodos tourist road, close to the landmark known as Psilo Dentro (Tall Tree). The trail is considered to be of high difficulty due to its length, steep ascents and descents, and constant variations in terrain. It is suitable for adults with a good level of fitness.As you embark on the Pouziaris Natural Trail, the initial kilometer leads you through dense clusters of Calabrian pine trees. As the trail ascends, the landscape gradually transforms, giving way to an impressive and dense black pine forest at higher altitudes. Throughout the hike, the Pouziaris Natural Trail unveils a series of panoramic viewpoints, offering breathtaking vistas of the surrounding area. From these vantage points, you can marvel at the unspoiled natural landscape, encompassing rolling hills, verdant valleys, and the shimmering expanse of the Mediterranean Sea in the distance.Beyond its scenic beauty, the Pouziaris Natural Trail is also a haven for biodiversity, showcasing a remarkable array of endemic plants and animals.
