Palia Kakopetria, the old quarter of Kakopetria, is the most picturesque part of the village, showcasing traditional Cypriot architecture and village life. These homes are primarily constructed from local stone. Historically, the ground floor served as a warehouse for storing wine and food, and sometimes as animal enclosures, while families lived on the upper floor.Declared a protected cultural heritage site, Palia Kakopetria offers visitors a chance to wander its narrow, winding streets and experience the charm of a traditional Cypriot village.
