Getting There

    From Troodos Square, drive towards the Karvounas-Troodos road. The Troodos Botanical Garden is located near the old Troodos hospital, before you reach the Troodos Geopark Visitor Centre. Look for signs directing you to the garden. Parking is available at the garden. Taxi from Troodos Square costs approximately €15-€20. Confirm the fare before starting your journey. Ride-sharing services may be limited in this area.

    From Paphos, take bus number 631 towards Troodos. Get off at the 'Amiantos' stop, which is near the Troodos Botanical Garden. From the bus stop, it's a short 10-minute walk uphill to the entrance of the garden. Bus fare is approximately €4-€6. Buses typically run every hour.

The Troodos Botanical Garden, also known as the A.G. Leventis Botanical Garden, is a serene escape set at an altitude of 1,400 meters in the Troodos National Forest Park. Established in 2010, the garden is dedicated to preserving and promoting the native flora of Cyprus, with a focus on the Troodos mountain range. It is located near the abandoned Amiantos asbestos mine and forms an important part of the mine's restoration. The garden is divided into thematic sections, including Endemic Plants, Riverine Vegetation, an Arboretum, and Aromatic and Traditional Garden Plants. Visitors can explore a variety of common, rare, and endangered flora species. The garden also features a visitor center with a herbarium, where visitors can study fresh and dry plant samples using stereoscopes. Visitors can enjoy a short documentary on the flora of the Troodos mountain range, an image representation of the vertical distribution of Troodos vegetation, and an electronic database of Cypriot flora. The garden also provides a history of the Amiantos mine and its restoration through photographic documentation. The Troodos Geopark Visitor Centre is located nearby, connected by an internal walking path. The garden is one of three botanical gardens on the island.
