Getting There

• Car

  From North Bohemia, take the D8 motorway towards Prague. Follow the signs for Prague and merge onto the D0 (Prague Ring) when you reach it. Continue on the D0 until you see signs for 'Hradčany' or 'Prague Castle'. Take the exit and follow the road, which will take you up to the castle. There is a parking area near the castle; however, be aware that parking fees apply, which can range from CZK 40 to CZK 80 per hour.

• Train

  Catch a train from any North Bohemia train station, like Ústí nad Labem or Liberec, to Prague Main Station (Praha Hlavní Nádraží). The journey takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Upon arrival at Prague Main Station, transfer to the metro line A (green line) towards Nemocnice Motol. Get off at Malostranská station. From there, you can either walk (about 20 minutes) to Prague Castle or take tram number 22, which will take you directly to the castle area. Be sure to purchase a metro/tram ticket which costs CZK 40.

• Bus

  Take a bus from one of the North Bohemia cities (e.g., Liberec or Ústí nad Labem) to Prague. Buses are frequent and the journey takes about 2 hours. Once you arrive at the bus station in Prague, you can take tram number 22 directly to the castle. The tram ride will take around 15-20 minutes. Ensure you buy a ticket before boarding; a single journey ticket costs CZK 40.

• Taxi or Rideshare

  If you prefer convenience, you can book a taxi or use a rideshare service from your location in North Bohemia directly to Prague Castle. This option can be more expensive, generally costing between CZK 1,500 to CZK 2,500 depending on your starting point and traffic conditions. Make sure to confirm the price with the driver before starting your journey.
