Car
If you are traveling by car, head towards the town of Mikulov. From Brno, take the D2 motorway towards Vienna. After approximately 50 km, take exit 41 for Mikulov. Follow the signs to Mikulov, and as you enter the town, look for parking options. There are several parking lots available near the castle, including at the Zámek parking area, which is a short walk to the castle entrance.
Public Transportation - Train
For those using public transportation, take a train from Prague or Brno to Mikulov. If you're coming from Brno, trains depart frequently from the Brno hlavní nádraží (main train station) to Mikulov. The journey takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive at Mikulov train station, exit and walk towards the town center. The castle is about a 20-minute walk uphill from the station. Follow the signs towards 'Zámek' or use a map for guidance.
Public Transportation - Bus
Alternatively, you can take a bus from Brno to Mikulov. Buses depart from the Brno Zvonková bus station and the journey takes about 1.5 hours. Upon arriving in Mikulov, walk towards the town center, and follow the signs to Mikulov Castle. The castle is located approximately 15-20 minutes on foot from the bus stop.
Walking
If you are already in Mikulov, the castle is very accessible by foot. From the town square (Náměstí) in Mikulov, head towards the hill where the castle is located. The walk will take about 10-15 minutes and involves some uphill walking, but the views along the way are rewarding. Once you reach the castle, you can explore the grounds and the museum.
