Established in 1842, Pilsner Urquell revolutionized brewing with its clear, golden color and distinct taste, becoming the inspiration for over 70% of the world's beers. The visitor experience begins at the Visitor Center, where guests can purchase tickets and learn about the brewery's origins. The tour takes you through both historical and modern brewhouses, showcasing the traditional copper vessels and the state-of-the-art bottling facilities that can process up to 120,000 bottles per hour. You'll discover the ingredients that make Pilsner Urquell unique and explore the 9-kilometer labyrinth of hand-carved cellars. A highlight of the tour is the tasting of unfiltered and unpasteurized Pilsner Urquell, drawn straight from oak barrels in the cellars. This provides a unique opportunity to savor the beer in its purest form. The Visitor Center also offers a gift shop where you can purchase souvenirs and the Na Spilce Pub, where you can enjoy Czech cuisine and fresh Pilsner Urquell.     Walking

    From the náměstí Republiky (Republic Square), walk east along Pražská Street. Continue onto Veleslavínova Street, then turn right onto Denisovo nábřeží. Cross the bridge over the Radbuza River and continue straight onto U Prazdroje. The Pilsner Urquell Visitor Center will be on your right. The walk is approximately 15-20 minutes. There are no tolls or parking fees associated with walking.

    Public Transport

    From the main train station (Plzeň hlavní nádraží), take tram line 1 or 2 in the direction of Skvrňany or Slovany. Get off at the 'Prazdroj' stop, which is directly in front of the Pilsner Urquell Brewery. A single 30-minute ticket costs CZK 24. Trams run frequently throughout the day.
