Pražák Palace, located in Brno, is one of five buildings that comprise the Moravian Gallery, the second largest art museum in the Czech Republic. This architectural gem, designed by Theophil von Hansen, was originally built in 1873-1874 for the politician Alois Pražák in the Late Renaissance style of Northern Italy. Today, it stands as one of the most remarkable Neo-Renaissance complexes in Moravia. The palace serves as the headquarters of the Moravian Gallery and houses a specialist library open to the public since 1883. Visitors can explore permanent exhibitions of 20th-century Czech art, as well as temporary exhibitions of modern and contemporary art. The Atrium, Space for a Single Artwork, and the Courtyard of the Pražák Palace showcase the latest trends in the art scene. The Moravian Gallery in Brno is unique for its broad scope, encompassing painting, drawing, graphic art, sculpture, photography, applied art, and design. The gallery aims to present Czech visual culture within a European context through both permanent and temporary exhibitions. It also organizes the International Biennial of Graphic Design Brno, a renowned event since 1963. The palace has undergone several renovations, including the installation of a slide connecting the second and first floors. The south-facing main entrance was relocated to the courtyard, now used for displaying sculptures and hosting events.
