From any location within Šumava National Park, navigate to the town of Prášily, which serves as a good starting point. Use GPS coordinates 49.0641, 13.3952 to reach Poledník, which is about a 10-minute drive from Prášily. Head southeast on the road marked 19, and then take a left onto the road leading directly to Poledník. Please note that parking is available near the observation deck.

Take a bus from major towns in the region, such as Sušice or Kašperské Hory, to Prášily. Buses run regularly, but it’s advisable to check the local schedule in advance. From the bus stop in Prášily, Poledník is about a 30-minute walk. Follow the signs towards Poledník, which will lead you through scenic trails. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for varying terrain.
