Getting There

    From the Stožec bus stop or train station, follow the marked trails towards the village center. From there, signs will direct you to the Stožecká Chapel or other attractions. The walk to the Chapel is approximately 4 km and takes you through the Stožec forest. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.

  • Public Transport

    Stožec is accessible by bus and train. From Prague, take a bus to Freyung and then transfer to a local bus to Stožec, with a total travel time of around 3 hours and 39 minutes and costing approximately 500 Kč - 750 Kč. Alternatively, take a train from Prague to Stožec via Ceske Budejovice, Horni Plana, and Cerny Kriz, which takes about 6 hours and 57 minutes and costs 950 Kč - 1 500 Kč. Once in Stožec, local buses connect the village with České Žleby and Volary. A 2 km walk from the bus stop will get you to the forest area.
