Getting There

  • Public Transport

    To reach Tower Boubín via public transport, take a bus from Prachatice to Buk-Prachatice. Check local bus schedules for the most accurate times, as they may vary. The bus journey takes approximately 30 minutes, and the fare typically costs around 30-50 CZK. From Buk, it's approximately a 4 km walk to the tower, following well-marked signs. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes for the walk.

    If driving, head towards Buk-Prachatice in the Šumava National Park. From Prachatice, take the E49 north towards Strakonice, then exit towards Buk after about 12 km. Follow signs to Tower Boubín. In Buk, follow the signs to Tower Boubín. There is a parking area near the base of the tower. Parking costs around 50 CZK for the day.

  • Walking

    If you are already in Buk-Prachatice, you can walk to Tower Boubín. Start from the center of Buk and follow the marked hiking trails. The walk is about 4 kilometers and should take approximately 1 hour. The path is scenic but can be uneven, so wear comfortable shoes.
