Buková Slať, a natural monument in the Prachatice district, lies within the Šumava National Park, approximately 4.5 km southwest of Borová Lada. This protected area showcases a unique raised peat bog landscape, characterized by its dwarf mountain pine and the presence of dwarf birch. The peat bog itself is part of a larger peatland spanning 111.33 hectares, though the protected natural monument covers only a portion of this area.Buková Slať's origins are linked to historical peat extraction, which has left its mark on the landscape.
