Zoo Hluboká: A Palearctic Paradise

Zoo Hluboká, officially known as the South Bohemian Zoological Garden, is located near the charming town of Hluboká nad Vltavou. Founded in 1939 as part of the Ohrada hunting lodge museum, the zoo has evolved into a modern institution focusing on animals from the Palearctic region. This includes species native to the Czech Republic, Europe, and the temperate zones of Asia, though it also features animals from other continents. The zoo is home to over 300 species and almost 3,000 animals. Visitors can explore diverse exhibits showcasing animals in environments that mimic their natural habitats.
