Public Transport

From České Budějovice, take bus number 4 towards Hluboká nad Vltavou. Get off at the 'Hluboká nad Vltavou, Lovecký zámek, rozcestí k ZOO' bus stop, which is near the Ohrada hunting lodge and the zoo entrance. The bus ride costs approximately 30 CZK. Alternatively, from the town center, a local bus or taxi can take you to the zoo for around 50-100 CZK.
Walking

From Hluboká nad Vltavou Castle, follow the path along the Munický Pond towards the Ohrada hunting lodge. The zoo is located adjacent to the lodge. The walk is approximately 2-3 kilometers and takes about 30-45 minutes. This scenic route offers views of the castle and the surrounding landscape. Consider taking the Munický Pond Ferry during the warmer months for a unique experience; a one-way trip costs 140 CZK for adults and 80 CZK for children.
Driving

From České Budějovice, follow Route 105 to Hluboká nad Vltavou. Continue on Route 105, following signs for 'Zoo Hluboká'. A large, private parking lot is available near the zoo. Parking costs approximately 50 CZK per hour.

Zoo Hluboká, officially known as the South Bohemian Zoological Garden, is located near the charming town of Hluboká nad Vltavou. Founded in 1939 as part of the Ohrada hunting lodge museum, the zoo has evolved into a modern institution focusing on animals from the Palearctic region.
