The Pomník Amerických Letců (Memorial to American Airmen) is a solemn and reflective site located near Bystrovany, in the Olomouc region of the Czech Republic. The bomber was part of the 92nd Bomb Group, 327th Squadron. Six members of the crew, including the commander 1st Lt. L.B. Fischer, perished in the crash. Two airmen managed to parachute to safety. The memorial marks the spot where the aircraft fell during a mission targeting the chemical plants in Záluží. In 1944, 143 planes were involved in a raid when four planes were shot down by German anti-aircraft artillery over Teplice, Mukov and Křižatek.
