Shared Path Přibyslav-Sázava Travel Guide

The Shared Path Přibyslav-Sázava, also known as the Přibyslav – Sázava bike path, is a delightful recreational trail in the heart of the Czech Republic. Opened in 2011, the 9.3 km path is built on the site of a former railway line, offering a smooth and mostly flat surface ideal for cyclists, inline skaters, pedestrians, and even cross-country skiers in the winter. Motor vehicles and dogs are prohibited to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all users.The path meanders through the scenic countryside along the Sázava River, showcasing the natural beauty of the Vysočina region. The route features a variety of landscapes, including narrow gorges with dense forests, open meadows, and several footbridges that cross the Sázava River. These bridges are covered with wooden slats for added safety and traction. Přibyslav, at one end of the path, is one of the oldest towns in the Vysočina region. Sázava, at the other end, is known for its Benedictine monastery. The path also forms part of the EuroVelo 4, a long-distance European cycle route, and connects to other local cycling routes, offering opportunities for longer excursions.
