Getting There

  • Driving

    From Coastal Highway (Route 1), turn onto any of the streets leading west towards the ocean, such as Evergreen Road or Ocean Drive. Parking is available on designated streets, but a daily permit is required from May 15 through September 15, between 10 AM and 5 PM, and midnight to 6 AM. Purchase permits at the Town Hall kiosk. Be aware that parking can be limited, especially during peak season. Daily parking permit costs $20.

  • Public Transport

    DART First State's 208 Blue Line bus provides seasonal service from Rehoboth Beach to Ocean City, stopping at York Beach Mall in South Bethany. From the bus stop, it's a short walk to the beach. A single fare on DART First State costs around $2-$4. The Bethany Beach Trolley, which is free, operates within the town limits of Bethany Beach, but does not extend to South Bethany.

    If you are staying in South Bethany, the beach is easily accessible by foot via numerous public walkways. From most residential areas, it's a short stroll to the ocean. Be mindful of traffic when crossing Coastal Highway (Route 1).
