Ensure you wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated. There is no cost for walking into the beach, but there is a fee to enter the park by vehicle from March 1 to November 30.

Take the DART First State Bus Route 204 to the Lewes Transit Center. From there, transfer to the DART Route 206, which has a stop at Cape Henlopen State Park. From the park entrance, follow Cape Henlopen Drive for approximately 1.5 miles to reach Johnnie Walker Beach. A one-way bus fare is typically $2.00. From Lewes, head east on Cape Henlopen Drive into Cape Henlopen State Park. Follow Cape Henlopen Drive for approximately 1.5 miles; Johnnie Walker Beach will be on your left. From March 1 to November 30, there is a daily entrance fee to the park: $5 for Delaware registered vehicles and $10 for out-of-state vehicles. Metered parking is available at Johnnie Walker Beach from May 1 to September 30, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Parking fees vary, so check posted signs upon arrival.
