Start from the main entrance of Cape Henlopen State Park. Head south on Cape Henlopen Drive, following the signs for Rehoboth Beach. Continue on Cape Henlopen Drive until you reach the intersection with Ocean Road. Turn left onto Ocean Road and continue driving until you reach Rehoboth Avenue. Turn right onto Rehoboth Avenue and follow it until you reach Lake Gerar Park, which will be on your left. There is no entrance fee for Lake Gerar Park.

From the main entrance of Cape Henlopen State Park, take the DART First State bus service. Board the Route 204 bus heading towards Rehoboth Beach. Stay on the bus until you reach the stop at Rehoboth Avenue and Lake Gerar Park. The bus fare is approximately $2.00. Once you get off, the park entrance will be a short walk from the bus stop.
