    Discover more about RehobothBeach

Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, is more than just a beautiful stretch of sand; it's a destination steeped in history and brimming with attractions. Originally inhabited by Native American tribes like the Lenape, the area transitioned to European settlement in the 17th century. In 1873, Reverend Robert W. Todd founded the Rehoboth Beach Camp Meeting Association, envisioning it as a Methodist retreat. Though the camp meetings waned by the late 19th century, Rehoboth Beach transformed into a popular resort town. The construction of the boardwalk in 1873 and the arrival of the Junction and Breakwater Railroad in 1878 spurred its growth. By the 1920s, with the advent of paved roads, Rehoboth Beach became a favorite vacation spot for legislators and government employees from Washington, D.C., earning its nickname, 'The Nation's Summer Capital'. Today, Rehoboth Beach offers a blend of classic seaside charm and modern attractions. Stroll along the mile-long boardwalk, lined with shops, restaurants, and amusements. Enjoy the thrill rides and arcade games at Funland, a family-owned amusement park since 1962. Explore the natural beauty of Cape Henlopen State Park, where the Delaware Bay meets the Atlantic Ocean. With its tax-free shopping, diverse culinary scene, and welcoming atmosphere, Rehoboth Beach continues to be a beloved destination for visitors of all ages.
