The San Jose Museum of Quilts & Textiles, the first of its kind in the United States, is dedicated to preserving, celebrating, and promoting the art, craft, and history of quilts and textiles. Several VTA (Valley Transportation Authority) bus lines stop within a short walk of the museum, including lines 23, 66, and 68. The nearest VTA bus stops are located at 1st & Reed, 2nd & William, and 2nd & San Salvador. The Convention Center is the nearest VTA Light Rail station, about one block west of the museum. A single VTA bus or light rail fare is typically $2.50.

The San Jose Museum of Quilts & Textiles is located in the SoFA district of downtown San Jose, making it easily accessible on foot from many nearby points of interest. From the San Jose Convention Center, walk east on San Carlos Street, then turn left onto S 1st Street. The museum will be on your left. From Plaza de Cesar Chavez, walk south on S Market Street, then turn right onto S 1st Street. The museum will be on your right.

The San Jose Museum of Quilts & Textiles is located at 520 S 1st St, San Jose, CA 95113. Please note that the museum does not have a dedicated parking lot. Limited metered street parking is available. The nearest public parking lot is located at 630 South First Street, under the I-280 overpass, with a flat fee of $5. Other nearby parking options include the South Hall Lot (435 S Market St) and the Convention Center Garage (401 S Almaden Blvd). Metered street parking costs around $4 for 2 hours. Parking at the South Hall Lot costs $7 for 2 hours.
