If you are starting from the University of Delaware campus, head southwest on South College Avenue. Continue for about 0.5 miles until you reach a traffic light at the intersection with Delaware Avenue. Turn left onto Delaware Avenue and walk for another 0.3 miles. You will pass several shops and eateries. When you reach the intersection with Library Avenue, turn right. The Newark Free Library will be on your left at 750 Library Avenue, approximately 0.2 miles down the road.

From the Newark train station, take the DART First State bus route 1 towards Wilmington. After approximately 10 minutes, get off at the 'Library Avenue and Main Street' stop. From there, walk east on Main Street for about 0.1 miles, then turn left onto Library Avenue. Walk along Library Avenue for about 0.3 miles, and the Newark Free Library will be on your right at 750 Library Avenue.
