Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving to Bowers Beach Maritime Museum from anywhere in The Delaware Bayshore, start by getting onto DE-1 S (Coastal Highway). Follow DE-1 S for about 15-20 minutes until you reach the exit for Frederica. Take the exit toward Frederica/DE-12. Once you exit, merge onto DE-12 W (Frederica Road). Continue on DE-12 W for approximately 5 miles. As you approach Frederica, take a left onto Main Street. The museum will be on your left at 3357 Main St, Frederica, DE 19946. There is no admission fee for the museum, but check their website for any special events that may have costs associated.

• Public Transportation

  If you're using public transportation, you can take a DART First State bus to Frederica. Look for the DART bus routes that travel along DE-1 and stop in Frederica. Once you disembark at the Frederica stop, walk north on Main Street for about half a mile. Bowers Beach Maritime Museum will be on your left at 3357 Main St. Be sure to check the DART First State website for bus schedules and potential fares.

• Bicycle

  For those adventurous enough to bike, you can follow the same route as drivers by starting on DE-1 S. There are bike lanes available in certain areas, but be cautious as some stretches may not be bike-friendly. Once you reach Frederica, turn onto DE-12 W (Frederica Road), then take a left onto Main Street. The museum will be on your left. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow all traffic laws. Bring water and snacks for your ride.
