Getting There

  • Walking

    From the Newark Amtrak Station, walk south on South College Avenue (Rt. 896) and turn left onto Mopar Drive. The gardens will be on the right. The walk is less than a half mile and should take about 10 minutes. No cost.

  • Public Transport

    Take the DART First State bus route 47 towards Newark. Disembark at the stop near the intersection of Old Baltimore Pike and New London Road. From there, walk 0.5 miles to the gardens. Head east on Old Baltimore Pike, then turn right onto Roger Martin Lane. The gardens will be on your right. Check the DART First State schedule for bus times and fares. A one-way fare is typically $2.

  • Driving

    From the intersection of DE-896 and Old Baltimore Pike, turn onto Old Baltimore Pike and drive for 1.5 miles. Turn right onto Roger Martin Lane. The University of Delaware Botanic Gardens will be on your right at 211 Roger Martin Lane, Newark, DE 19713. Metered parking is available near UDairy Creamery, and pay-by-app parking is available in the Townsend Hall parking lot and the Fred Rust Ice Arena using the Passport Parking Mobile app. Parking fees vary.
