Discover more about Can-Do Playground

Can-Do Playground, situated in Alapocas Run State Park, is a pioneering recreational space in Delaware, intentionally designed for children of all abilities. Opened in 2007, the 27,000 square foot playground emerged from the vision of six Wilmington-area Rotary Clubs who sought to create an inclusive play environment for children with physical, mental, and sensory disabilities. The playground features a wide array of accessible play structures, including ramps, swings with full support, a dedicated toddler area, and a large sandpit filled with toys. Sensory exploration stations and a storybook trail further enhance the experience, stimulating both the mind and senses. Shaded play areas and a bottle fill fountain provide comfort during playtime. Can-Do Playground is more than just a playground; it's a place where children of all abilities can play, learn, and grow together. The park also includes family restrooms and picnic areas, making it a convenient and enjoyable destination for families. Alapocas Run State Park itself offers additional attractions, such as the Blue Ball Barn, home to the Delaware Folk Art Collection, and the scenic trails of the park.
