Discover more about Bella Center Copenhagen

Sundstorget, located near Helsingborg's Northern Harbour, is a bustling square that has been a focal point of the city since its establishment in 1865. Initially developed on reclaimed land, the square became fully surrounded by buildings around the turn of the 20th century. In 2004, Sundstorget underwent a significant transformation, introducing an underground two-level parking garage and a glass-walled pavilion, enhancing its functionality and aesthetic appeal. The square is paved with concrete slabs in two shades, featuring a large, slightly recessed circle at its center, bordered by 33 flagpoles. A glass pavilion in the southern part houses the entrance to the underground parking, while additional glass structures along Drottninggatan serve as further access points. A row of trees along this street provides a natural barrier between the square and the road. The western side is dominated by Dunkers Kulturhus, a cultural center designed by Danish architect Kim Utzon, son of Jørn Utzon, the designer of the Sydney Opera House. This cultural hub hosts art galleries, music, theater, and dance performances, contributing to the square's vibrant atmosphere. Surrounding Sundstorget are numerous shops, cafes, and restaurants, offering a variety of dining and shopping experiences. The square frequently hosts events and markets, showcasing local crafts and cuisine, making it a dynamic space that reflects the city's rich cultural tapestry. Visitors can enjoy leisurely strolls, savor traditional Swedish pastries at nearby cafes, or simply relax and people-watch in this lively setting. Sundstorget's central location also makes it an excellent starting point for exploring other attractions in Helsingborg, such as the historic Kärnan tower and the scenic waterfront.
