Car
If you're traveling by car, start from Djibouti City. Head north on Route Nationale 1 (RN1) towards the town of Balbala. Continue on RN1 for approximately 27 kilometers until you reach the junction for Route 17. Turn left onto Route 17 and drive for about 15 kilometers until you see signs for Mt. Olympus. The final stretch to Mt. Olympus will be a dirt road; ensure you have a reliable vehicle, preferably a 4x4, as the road can be rough.

Public Transportation
To reach Mt. Olympus via public transportation, take a taxi-brousse (shared minibus) from the central taxi-brousse station in Djibouti City heading towards Balbala. The fare is usually around 200 DJF (Djiboutian Francs). Once you arrive in Balbala, you will need to hire a local taxi to take you the remaining distance to Mt. Olympus. Be prepared to negotiate the fare; it should be around 2,000 DJF for the taxi ride. Confirm with the driver that they know the location of Mt. Olympus before starting your journey.
