One of the old cannons remains on site, serving as a reminder of the site's military heritage.In 1928, a large cast concrete cross was erected at the summit of Morne Bruce at the instigation of the Roman Catholic Bishop, James Morris. Known as 'The Shrine', the cross symbolized the protection of the town and the harbor beyond, and it is linked to the name of the Roseau Cathedral: Notre Dame de Bon Port, Our Lady of Fair Haven.The panoramic views from Morne Bruce are simply breathtaking.
