Getting There

• Walking

  From the center of Mahaut, head towards the main road (the one that runs along the coast). You will want to follow the path that leads to the south. Walk straight for about 15 minutes until you reach the junction with the Toucari Road. At this junction, take a left onto Toucari Road. Continue straight on this road for another 10-15 minutes; you will notice the road will begin to descend towards the bay. As you walk, you may see signs pointing towards Toucari Bay. Once you reach the bottom of the hill, you'll see the bay on your right. Follow the small path down to the beach.

• Hiking

  If you are feeling adventurous, you can hike from Mahaut to Toucari Bay. Start at the Mahaut community center and head towards the hills. Follow the trail that leads you along the ridge; this will provide scenic views of the surrounding area. Make sure to carry enough water and wear proper hiking shoes. After about 30-40 minutes of hiking, you will begin to descend towards the bay area. Keep an eye out for local wildlife and enjoy the lush greenery as you make your way down. The trail will bring you directly to Toucari Bay.

• Public Transport

  While there may not be direct public transport to Toucari Bay, you can take a local bus from Mahaut to Portsmouth. Once you reach Portsmouth, inform the bus driver or locals that you want to go to Toucari Bay. You may need to take another taxi or ask for directions to find a small transport service that can drop you off at the bay. The bus ride from Mahaut to Portsmouth takes about 30 minutes.
