    From Roseau, the capital of Dominica, local mini-buses (look for license plates starting with 'H') regularly travel to Soufriere. The bus fare is approximately EC$4 (about US$1.50). Ask any local for directions to the Soufriere bus stop in Roseau, near the craft market and Ruins Rock Cafe. Be aware that public transportation is infrequent after 7 p.m. and on Sundays.

  • Taxi

    Taxis are readily available in Roseau and can take you directly to Soufriere Bay. The taxi ride is approximately 13 minutes and costs between US$3-5. Negotiate the fare with the driver before starting your journey.

  • Driving

    If you have a rental car, the drive from Roseau to Soufriere Bay is about 13 minutes covering a distance of 12.1 km. Be aware that in Dominica, driving is on the left side of the road. A driving permit is required, costing US$12, and is available from your car rental company. Free parking is available at Soufriere Bay, but spaces are limited, so arrive early.
