Car
If you are driving, start from the center of Bonao. Head south on Calle Juan Alejandro Acosta (also known as the Carretera Bonao). After approximately 3.5 kilometers, you will arrive at a fork; take the left fork to stay on Carretera Bonao. Continue straight for another 5 kilometers until you see signs for Jima Falls. Watch for the entrance that will be to your right. The road may be uneven, so drive carefully.
Public Transportation
To reach Jima Falls via public transportation, start at the main bus terminal in Bonao. Look for a 'guagua' (shared taxi) heading towards Jima Abajo. The fare should be around 50-75 Dominican Pesos. Inform the driver that you are going to Jima Falls. The trip will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Jima Abajo, you may need to walk for about 1 kilometer to reach the entrance of Jima Falls. It’s advisable to ask locals for directions if you’re unsure.
Walking
If you find yourself in close proximity to the falls, such as in Jima Abajo, you can walk the final distance. From the village, take the main dirt road leading towards the hills. The path is relatively straightforward, but it can be steep and muddy, so wear appropriate footwear. It should take roughly 20-30 minutes to reach the falls on foot.
