Getting There

• Walking

  Start from the central park in Jarabacoa, known as Parque Central. Head east on Calle Juan de Dios Ventura Simó until you reach the intersection with Calle Independencia. Turn left onto Calle Independencia. Continue walking straight for about 800 meters until you reach the main road, Carretera Jarabacoa - La Vega (also known as Calle 27 de Febrero). Here, you will need to find a local motoconcho (motorcycle taxi) service or a shared taxi. Motoconchos are widely available and can take you to the entrance of Salto Baiguate for a small fee. Once you are on a motoconcho, let the driver know you want to go to Salto Baiguate. The ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes. The driver will drop you off at the entrance to the hiking area, which is marked by a sign. From there, you can follow the marked trail to reach the waterfall.

• Public Transport

  From the main bus terminal in Jarabacoa, look for a local bus or 'guagua' heading towards La Vega. Ask the driver or the conductor to drop you off at the closest stop for Salto Baiguate. This is usually near the main road junction where motoconchos are available. Once you get off, you can take a motoconcho or walk to the entrance of Salto Baiguate, which is about a 10-minute walk. Follow the signs or ask locals for directions. The entrance to the trail is well-marked.
