If you are driving from the center of Las Terrenas, start by heading southeast on Calle Duarte. Continue for about 1 kilometer until you reach the intersection with Calle Juan Pablo Duarte. Turn left onto this road and follow it for another kilometer. You will see signs directing you toward Playa Escondida. Keep an eye out for the entrance on your right, which will lead you down a small dirt road. This road will take you directly to the beach. Please note that parking may be available, but it's advisable to check upon arrival.
Public Transportation
To reach Playa Escondida using public transportation, you can take a local 'carro publico' (shared taxi) from the main square in Las Terrenas. Ask the driver to take you to Playa Escondida specifically, as they are familiar with the area. The fare is usually around 100 Dominican Pesos (approximately $2 USD) per person. The ride will take about 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you arrive, you may need to walk a short distance to the actual beach area.
Walking
If you are staying close to Playa Escondida, you can walk to the beach from your accommodation. Make your way to Calle Duarte and follow it southeast until you reach Calle Juan Pablo Duarte, then turn left. Continue walking until you see the signs for Playa Escondida. The walk is pleasant and will take approximately 30-40 minutes, depending on your pace. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes, as some parts of the route may be uneven.
