Car
If you are driving from the main town in Sierra de Neiba, head southwest on the main road towards Ocoa. Continue until you reach the intersection with Carretera Hatillo - Palmar de Ocoa. Turn left onto Carretera Hatillo - Palmar de Ocoa and follow the road for approximately 6.5 kilometers. Look for the sign for OcoaBay on your right. Make sure to check local traffic laws and conditions, as some roads may have potholes or be under construction.
Public Transportation (Guagua)
To reach OcoaBay via public transportation, find a local guagua (shared taxi or minibus) that travels from Sierra de Neiba to Ocoa. Ask the driver to drop you off at the intersection of Carretera Hatillo - Palmar de Ocoa. From the drop-off point, it is about a 10 to 15-minute walk to OcoaBay. Be sure to confirm the fare with the driver before boarding, as prices can vary.
Taxi
For a more direct route, consider hiring a taxi from Sierra de Neiba to OcoaBay. Negotiate the fare beforehand. Expect to pay around 1000 to 1500 DOP for the trip, depending on your negotiation skills and the time of day. The taxi will take you straight to the entrance of OcoaBay, making it a convenient option if you are traveling with luggage or in a group.
