Car
If you're traveling by car, head to Tena, which is a central hub in the Ecuadorian Amazon. From Tena, take the E20 highway heading south. After approximately 5 kilometers, you will see signs directing you towards amaZOOnico. Follow the signs, and turn left onto the road leading directly to the wildlife refuge. There is a parking area available near the entrance. Be aware that the roads may be bumpy, so drive carefully.
Public Transportation - Bus
To reach amaZOOnico by public transportation, first, you need to get to Tena. From cities like Quito or Baños, you can take a bus to Tena. The bus ride may take around 5-6 hours from Quito. Once you arrive in Tena, ask for the local buses or taxis that can take you to amaZOOnico. Local buses may leave from the main bus terminal, and the fare to amaZOOnico should be around $1-2. Make sure to confirm with the driver that they will drop you off at amaZOOnico, as some may not go directly there.
