Car
If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Quito, the capital of Ecuador. Head northwest on the E28 highway, following the signs towards the town of Santo Domingo. This drive will take approximately 2 to 3 hours. Once you reach Santo Domingo, continue on the E28 until you reach the junction for the E45 road heading towards the northwest. Follow the E45 for about 1 hour until you see a sign for Mashpi Lodge. Turn onto the road leading into the Reserva Privada Mashpi. The lodge is about 30 minutes down this road. Make sure your car is equipped for the mountainous terrain and be cautious of the road conditions.

If you prefer public transportation, you can take a bus from Quito to Santo Domingo. Buses leave regularly from the Terminal Terrestre Quitumbe. The journey takes about 2 to 3 hours, and the fare is usually around $5-7. Once you arrive in Santo Domingo, you will need to find a local taxi or shared taxi (known as 'colectivo') to Mashpi Lodge. The taxi ride will take about 1.5 to 2 hours and will cost around $25-30. Be sure to confirm the fare with the driver before departing.
