Getting There

Car

If you are traveling by car, start your journey from the nearest major city, which is Lago Agrio (Nueva Loja). Drive south on the E45 highway for approximately 30 kilometers. Follow the signs to Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve. Once you reach the reserve entrance, you will need to pay an entrance fee, which is typically around $10 per person. From the entrance, continue driving until you reach the designated parking area, where you will leave your vehicle.
Public Transportation

To get to Waita Amazon Lodge using public transportation, take a bus from Quito or Lago Agrio to the town of Lago Agrio (Nueva Loja). Buses from Quito depart from the southern bus terminal (Terminal Quitumbe) and take approximately 8-10 hours, costing around $10-15. From Lago Agrio, you can take a local taxi or a shuttle service to the entrance of Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve. Expect to pay around $20 for this taxi ride.
