From Ambato city center, head to the main bus terminal located at Avenida Cevallos. Look for buses heading towards Baños or Pelileo, as they frequently pass by the area close to Carrel Refuge. Ask the driver to drop you off at Chuquipogyo. The bus ride should take approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive in Chuquipogyo, walk towards the northeast direction for about 15 minutes until you reach the Carrel Refuge, following the local signs or inquiring with locals for directions.
