Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start your journey from Cuenca, which is approximately 30 kilometers away from Giron Waterfalls. Head south on the A-1 road towards Giron. After about 20 kilometers, take the exit towards Giron. Follow the signs for Giron town. Once you reach Giron, continue on the main road through the town and look for signs directing you to the waterfalls. The roads are generally well-maintained, but be cautious of potential potholes and sharp turns as you get closer to the waterfalls.

• Public Transportation

  From Cuenca, you can take a bus to Giron. The buses leave from the Cuenca bus terminal and the journey takes about 45 minutes. Once you arrive in Giron, you can either walk (approximately 1.5 kilometers from the bus station to the waterfalls) or take a local taxi. The taxi ride will take about 10 minutes and should cost around $2-3. Be sure to ask the driver to take you to Giron Waterfalls.

• Walking

  If you choose to walk from the bus station in Giron to the waterfalls, head south on the main road until you see the sign for Giron Waterfalls. The path can be a bit steep in places, so wear comfortable walking shoes. The walk will take roughly 20 minutes, and you'll be greeted by beautiful scenery along the way.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more direct route from Cuenca to Giron Waterfalls, you can hire a taxi. This option is more expensive, costing around $30-40, but it will take you directly to the waterfalls without the need for additional transfers. Make sure to negotiate the fare before starting your trip.
