Car
If you are traveling by car, head towards Papallacta from Quito. Take the E28 road, which will lead you eastward. It's about a 1.5-hour drive, covering approximately 70 kilometers. Once you reach Papallacta, look for signs directing you towards Guango Lodge. The lodge is located about 15 minutes from the center of Papallacta along the road to the Papallacta Hot Springs. There is a small sign for Guango Lodge on the left side of the road. Make sure to watch for the lodge's entrance as it can be easy to miss.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you can take a bus from Quitumbe Bus Terminal in Quito to Papallacta. The bus trip takes about 2 hours and costs around $2-3. Once you arrive at Papallacta, you can catch a taxi to Guango Lodge, which should cost around $10. Inform the taxi driver of your destination, and they will take you directly to the lodge. Alternatively, if you're feeling adventurous and want to hike, you can walk from Papallacta to Guango Lodge, which is about a 4 km walk along a dirt road, taking roughly 1 hour.
