Getting there

Car

If you are driving from the city of Otavalo, head southeast on the Pan-American Highway (E35) for about 15 km. Look for the signs directing you towards Mojanda. Turn left onto the road that leads to the Mojanda area, which is well-marked. Continue on this road for about 10 km until you reach the parking area near the lakes at Mojanda. Be aware that the road can be narrow and winding in some sections, so drive carefully.

Public Transportation

To reach Mojanda by public transportation, first take a bus from Otavalo to the town of San Pablo. Buses leave regularly from the Otavalo bus terminal, and the fare is usually around $0.50 USD. Once you arrive in San Pablo, look for a local bus or taxi that goes to Mojanda. Ensure to communicate your destination clearly, as some drivers may not be familiar with it.
