From any location within Cotopaxi National Park, head south towards the main road (E28). Continue on E28 until you reach the junction for the road to El Chaupi. Turn onto Vía a El Chaupi, which is well marked. Follow this road for approximately 10 km, and you will arrive at the entrance of Ingresó reserva los ilinizas. Be prepared for a bumpy ride, as the road may have some rough patches.

If you are using public transportation, first make your way to the nearest town with bus services, such as Sangolquí or Machachi. From Sangolquí, take a bus going to El Chaupi. The ride takes about 1-1.5 hours. Once you arrive in El Chaupi, you can either walk or take a local taxi to the entrance of Ingresó reserva los ilinizas, which is approximately 3 km away. Ensure to check the bus schedules as they may vary, and it is advisable to confirm the return times.
