Getting There

  If you are traveling by car from the Amazon region, head towards Quito first. From Quito, take the Pan-American Highway (E28) southbound. After approximately 50 kilometers, you will reach the small town of Machachi. Continue through Machachi and look for signs pointing towards Cotopaxi National Park. The Secret Garden Cotopaxi is located just outside Machachi, so you will need to take a local road towards the lodge. Make sure to use a GPS or a map app to navigate the final stretch to the lodge's exact coordinates: latitude -0.5034351, longitude -78.4710097. Parking is available on site.

• Public Transportation

  If you're using public transportation, start by taking a bus from the Amazon region to Quito. Several bus companies operate this route, and the journey usually takes around 6-8 hours depending on your starting point. Once in Quito, head to the Quitumbe bus terminal and look for a bus heading to Machachi. The bus ride from Quito to Machachi takes about 1 hour. Upon reaching Machachi, you can either take a taxi or a local bus that goes towards Cotopaxi National Park. Inform the driver that you need to get off at The Secret Garden Cotopaxi, or show them the address: S/N, Machachi. The total cost for the bus from Quito to Machachi is approximately $2-3.
