Car
If you're driving from Highland Valleys, start by heading south on the E28 highway. Continue for about 30 kilometers until you reach the intersection with the E35. Merge onto the E35 heading north towards Quito. Follow the E35 for approximately 20 kilometers. As you approach Quito, look for signs directing you to the Historic Center, or Centro Histórico. You can park your car in one of the public parking lots available near the Historic Center area. Expect parking fees to be around $1 to $2 per hour.
Public Transportation (Bus)
To reach Quito Historic Center by bus, find the nearest bus terminal in Highland Valleys. Look for buses heading to Quito; they are usually labeled 'Quito' or 'Centro Histórico'. The bus ride typically takes about 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on traffic, and costs around $2. Once you arrive at the bus terminal in Quito, it’s a short walk to the Historic Center. Follow the signs for Centro Histórico, and you will find yourself on García Moreno Street.
Taxi or Rideshare
For a more comfortable option, you can take a taxi or use a rideshare service like Uber. Simply request a ride from your location in Highland Valleys to the address: QFJP+8RP, García Moreno, Quito 170401. The trip can take about 50 minutes to an hour, depending on traffic, and costs approximately $25 to $35. This option provides direct access to the Historic Center without the hassle of parking.
